Professional Development for Entrepreneurs

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

To provide excellent advice to entrepreneurs, or to be one, you need some business experience.  The MBA program is a great way to go but it is broad in its scope.  For some targeted professional development, check out OCRI’s Entrepreneur’s Edge (e2) course.  Peter Filmore, the managing director, sent me the following note on the program.

The next e2 Program is set for Feb 9-13 – a week of half days of high value Professional Development. The e2 Program is Ontario’s best-of-breed Entrepreneurship Program – especially designed to help small companies and innovators succeed. Instruction is given by veteran, practicing entrepreneurs, using proven models of how markets work and how winners win, with strikingly positive results. One participant, for example, used the new knowledge to raise $250K of seed funding within 5 months, and $20 Million of VC money within 15 months after that.

Attendees rave about the quality of new knowledge and connections gained at the e2 Program exclusive sessions – seating is limited to 12 people.

Also, the E2 Professional Development Program includes a free seat at three intensive workshops as part of the e2 Program investment. These focused sessions, called the e2Plus Program, cost $195 each, but are free to e2 Alumni and people registered for the next e2 main Program (Feb 9-13):

  • - Advanced Business Communication & Influence (BCI) Skills (Feb 5/09 – 8am-2pm),
  • - Leading Effective Executive Teams (March 12/09 – 8am-3pm)
  • - Market Value & Product Opportunity Assessment (April 14/09 – 8am-2pm)

For people interested in advanced interpersonal influence skills, the best advantage is obtained by registering in e2 before Feb 4th-09, and attending the Feb 5th BCI session.

To assist with financing, the e2 Program may be paid for with 6 monthly payments, subject to a $50 processing fee for the pre-authorized monthly debits.
